Our Vision

To create a community where every child and woman has access to quality healthcare services for survival, protection, development, and participation.

Our Mission

To inspire innovation in the provision of healthcare services for children and women, leading to immediate and lasting improvements in their lives through enhanced access to health services.

What We Do

Maternal Health

We offer early antenatal care (ANC) to pregnant women in remote villages through regular services at health centers and outreach clinics. We provide:
  • Pregnancy testing & Health education
  • Treatment and emotional support
  • Monitoring and follow-up care
We follow World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations to begin ANC within the first 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Community Healthcare

Our village clinics provide essential healthcare services for children, including:
  • Malaria testing and treatment
  • Treatment of diarrhea and respiratory infections
  • Growth monitoring and nutritional assessments
  • Management of chronic childhood illnesses
Each clinic serves 10 villages, operates twice a week, and is run by nurses and CHWs (Community Health Workers).

Community-Led Acute Malnutrition Management

We run a community-based nutrition intervention to fight malnutrition in children under five. The program includes:
  • Screening children for signs of malnutrition
  • Providing 12 days of community-cooked porridge
  • Nutrition education to help families use locally available foods
This approach empowers communities to take ownership of child nutrition and supports sustainable, local solutions.

CommunitySocialBehaviourChangeCommunication CSBCC0

We promote healthy behaviors and increase awareness through:.
  • Peer education & door-to-door visits
  • Distribution of IEC (Information, Education, Communication) materials
  • Sensitization meetings and antenatal health talks
The goal: better healthcare decisions at household and community level.

Opportunities
To achieve its goals, the initiative employs community mobilization to promote CBMNCH and encourages social behavior change in mother and child health care. The Smile Mums Foundation implemented the project in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other key stakeholders. The project aims to decrease the under-five mortality rate by promoting the use of effective maternal, newborn, and child health interventions, which include post-partum family planning.
