Our Story

From humble beginnings to life-changing impact in rural Malawi.

2016 – Our Beginning

Founded by Frank Jengeless Banda as "Save Mothers, Save Babies", a grassroots effort to reduce maternal mortality and promote early antenatal care in remote communities.

2018 – Registered as NGO

Smile Mums officially registered and formed key partnerships with the Ministry of Health, Nsaru Health Center, and local leaders to expand services.

2020–2022 – Scaling Impact

With support from Segal Family Foundation, Smile Mums scaled up nutrition, maternal care, and health education outreach programs.

2023–2024 – Outreach Expansion

Launched Outreach Clinics, Home Nursing Visits, and Community-Led Nutrition & CSBCC. Reaching 197+ villages with life-saving interventions.

is a registered organization committed to transforming maternal and child health within communities. Our journey began with a vision to alleviate health disparities and empower vulnerable mothers, children, and girls across Malawi.
